Re: Pocono track

I guess I don't have a problem with the speed of the cars on the larger tracks, and I do at times, enjoy the variety of ovals, and road courses, what I don't like, and who am I, are the street courses, they are to me, a waste of time, mine and theirs, and the equipment, you take a lay down go-kart to the high banks of Daytona, as I have, you instantly get the feeling of speed, is it dangerous, absolutely, did it bother me, no, yes, we ran the road course, but the speed on the parts of the oval that we ran, were definatly there, so based on that, I don't really see a problem, I think back to all of the street races we ran, and then unmask the things that were covered with plywood and hay bales, it brings to mind a real thought of probably not being a smart thing to do, but, that was what we did, we loved it, and it paid nothing, a trophy if you are lucky, but you paid every dime that was spent. just sayin!

Thanks Mike. Pretty sure that's what we all long for, show up at the track in May and see what everyone has been working on all winter. every car unique. Oh well, guess the current formula is cheaper for the owner's.

Just saw a quote from the great Mario Andretti on a Twitter post. This is not verbatim but close. He said “Pocono is not for sissies. It would be a big mistake for Indy Car to leave.” In my opinion, case closed!
