Smoke
Hate to see this video of Tony punching a fan in the pits last night. I’m sure the guy deserved it but cmon man. Get it under control
|
Re: Smoke
When people play stupid games they deserve stupid prizes. Smoke did exactly what he should have.
|
I don’t disagree with you. Like I said. I’m sure he deserved it. I just hate in today’s world that the only thing Tony likely accomplished last night was land himself in another legal battle.
|
Not sure if you call it a fan. Tony is old school. Pretty sure this guy wasn't expecting this response and he won't do it again.
|
The fan should have been removed. But, you just can't do what Tony did. Especially with his profile.
|
Did I miss something? Where the video?
|
|
Not a good look. He should’ve just ignored the guy, our sport doesn’t need additional negative publicity. It’s already hard enough to get sponsors on board etc.
|
Good for him. I don't know what that all started over, but I'm glad he still scraps lol
|
Re: Smoke
Honestly I don't blame him for it or the Chili Bowl incident.
It's the reason I don't attend big races anymore. Drunk beyond reason race fans spewing idiotic stuff you wouldn't say sober. Nothing wrong with getting a buzz, Having fun, But when you become belligerent. You get what you deserve. Seen it way too many times I just avoid it anymore. |
On a positive note at least Smoke didn’t send a negative tweet about the guy rather than smack him. That would have been behavior “detrimental to the sport” and possibly resulted in suspension.
|
Re: Smoke
In all honesty, I would have probably reacted the same way Tony did. I can't stand a loud obnoxious drunk.

Looks like the dude didn't realize Tony is a lefty😂
|
Re: Smoke
Provoked for sure, but I would expect it to be handled like everything else involving him.

Re: Smoke
It looks like Stewart just "grazed" the guy. Not a clean connecting punch.
|
Penelope needs to step up her game. Makayla was as much of a deterrent as Bob was when it came to talking trash after a race. 😂🤯😴
|
Re: Smoke
It could've been handled differently, but it's very understandable since he has so many people coming up and harassing him. Crap I don't go into GA really, but maybe 5 minutes to say hello to my mom if I have my suit on. I'm a nobody mini sprint racer, but get constantly harassed by drunks because I have a race suit on. Happened at many different tracks also. After talking to a lot of people they've said same thing if you have a suit on you get constantly harassed, if you have street clothes you're usually fine.

Re: Smoke
I hate this for Tony. I like all the other"old school" peeps dont mind seeing a guy get what he deserves but at the same time in this day and age, and especially with Tony's reputation, it isn't helping him either.
Maybe its time for him to have a "bodyguard" or someone to run interference for him in these situations. |
Re: Smoke
What track and what racing organization was he racing with when this happened?

***** ~ Stewart 2020
Make Racing Great Again ! ! ! Tony, Please Please Please don't ever change. Love you man. |
Looks like the guy took off running after he got smacked!
After watching a video this week of so called “people” dumping a bucket of ice over a policeman’s head while he was doing his job. We need more people like Smoke instead of all the Sheeple turning into a bunch of cupcakes!! |
Not to take a stance on this but I think that it’s not unreasonable to compare this situation to the Ballou situation. It seems that Robert’s suspension was kinda “the straw that broke the camels back” deal. I don’t know exactly how many times he was warned about his comments on social media, but we certainly all know TONY has a bit of a history of what could be seen as stepping over the line. If enough is enough in one situation, why isn’t it the other? This is just food for thought. I love both of these guys, and I honestly believe that Smoke does far more good than bad. I guess it just makes me think about living in glass houses

Anybody who uses "but i was drunk" as an excuse should quit :42:: |
Basically racing to some has become an excuse for public drunkenness. I like a beer same as the next guy, but there are too many who “pregame” in the parking lot and are snockered before the first flag flies. Not a good look.
