What’s up with this racing surface? It was dusty in the first heat race. TMEZ just said “it’s really dusty, I’m actually worried...you might see me run the bottom”. No good, no fun. Those sprint heats were a snooze fest.

Yea. They missed it big time on track prep. At least water the infield and top (outside the cushion) so there was a chance to see a little.

Unfortunately, KTJ snookered? (forced slider) Tmez on a late race restart for the win.

I think Montpelier got a F rating last night. 🥴

There was some good racing that took place; but yes they missed it by having too little moisture in the track and the dust was bad enough where you couldn't see at times (watched on Flo).
But this does seem to be the norm for this event at this track. I went in 2017... dry, had to do complete rework and still dusted up awful. Looking at highlight videos and last night... all dusty.

Sat turn 4. 1st time in almost 50 years l watched a race with my eyes closed and tee shirt over my nose. Dust was terrible to say the least. There is no shortage of water this year. Why ?

I'm usually don't whine about track conditions because it's something you just learn to deal with in dirt track racing. Montpelier is typically dry and dusty but this time it was ridiculous for both fans and drivers. There were times during this event that there were incidents on the track that you couldn't see until the dust had cleared. The weather forecast for the day was good so I would also have to give them an F- on track prep.

Did anyone notice how mushy the parking lot was? I'm guessing Harold thought the moisture would come back up more than it did; a few years back at a regular midget show right after heavy rains there was so much water below the surface turn one looked like a water bed when the wheel-packing firetruck ran through it...

Montpelier hasn't had a race all year. From what I've heard they couldn't get the water truck onto the track until yesterday because the grounds were so wet. I heard they were worried it might be dusty. Its definitely unfortunate but not the norm at Montpelier.
