LPS Spec Tire: 1999 version

I was reading an old newspaper article (8/28/99) written by the late Tim McKinney where he quotes Ron Scheffel (Derek's dad), "we went to Lawrenceburg rather than Putnamville to get some practice for the USAC Danny Milburn Memorial this weekend. They run a spec tire at Putnamville - we wouldn't learn anything from that."

Does anyone remember what that spec tire rule was?

I believe they're 1st ones with DT3 spec rule. Rich Winings

It started out at Putnamville with the DT3 on the Right Rear.

Thank you!

Of interest in that same article were car counts for NAMARS Midget Week. It was stated that high car count was Thursday at Bloomington with 76 midgets and 54 sprints!

Midget winners were: Dave Darland (Bloomington), Jay Drake (Twin Cities), Tony Elliott (Kokomo), Tracy Hines (Gas City) and Critter Malone (Lincoln Park).

Sprint winners were: Dave Darland (Twin Cities), Tony Elliott (Bloomington & Lincoln Park), Jack Hewitt (Gas City), and Terry Pletch (Kokomo).

The NAMARS 5 Crown used to be my favorite week of the year.
