Directions to Springfield

I am planning a trip to go to the silver crown race at the Springfield mile. Can any one give me directions from Indianapolis! I am really looking forward to this race. Thanks!

US-36 is a straight shot to Springfield from Indy, but it is faster to take I-74 to Urbana, then I-72 to Springfield. Assuming there are not a lot of orange barrel scenery points on the Interstate.

Do a MapQuest search for directions to "Taintor Rd & Outer Dr, Springfield, IL" from your starting point. This is the intersection where you turn to enter the Tunnel to the infield parking area.

Illinois State Fairgrounds Gate 6. Springfield, Illinois
This will take you through the tunnel under turns 3 and 4 to the infield.

If you want grandstand seating use Gate 7.
