Bye bye Goodyear, AGAIN, WoO to discontunue use

Good, it should be OPEN TIRE, like it always used to be! Let's have all 3 manufacturers involved and see what kind of competition we have!

I agree. An open tire rule would be great for the fans. Give us a little more to cheer about come show time. I am sure that the series will pull the "Cost Savings" card out and sign a deal to run spec tires, though.
Goodyears when you want to race. Hoosiers when you want to win. First post for me. Thanks for the open invite and not "spec" members. :) |

That's right Chuck and BOSS will stay that way in 2013 too.

Not to change the post, but would this have anything to do with the goodyear TV commercials? They would show 4 or 5 types of race cars that use goodyears.--off road--drag racing--but no sprint cars. You would think for the money they had spent to get the lock on WOO sprint cars they would have a 10 sec clip of them. Just asking.

I wonder if the other series and individual tracks that mandate Goodyears will follow WOO's lead?

The article doesn't really say that there will be no more Goodyear in WoO. It says it will not be the "official" tire supplier after 2012. Reading between the lines - you will be able to get them but likely at a higher price.
