This close minded us against the wings, us against fenders and support classes, us against starters mentality is the reason that outside of Indiana, only hardcore race fans even know what USAC or non wing racing is.

Whether you agree with me or not, what's been happening the past few years isn't working.

That also may be why we Hoosiers aren't stuck with wings and fenders like in almost every other state in the country.

James, hold your horses there buddy. Terre Haute is a typical fair board deal, and at times the board doesn't see eye to eye with the promoter, it's happened more than once, and not just at Terre Haute. But also some promoters just didn't pan out. There must be some value in the place though, because Bob Sargeant and the O'Conner family definitely don't work on losing propositions.

As for the wing non wing thing, you don't see as many non wing shows in Canada as we see here. Neither does the rest of the US for that matter, but that is changing. Non wing racing in Indiana, BOSS in Ohio, ARDC non wing midgets on the eastern sea board, packed houses for the USAC Pennsylvania swing, Australia , of course the west coast , Illinois, and that's just part of them.

You may think some of the Hoosiers here are closed minded, but most of the world is starting to like our thinking.
