Burg practice

Track looks decent but dry. A couple wing 305’s, several NW, some emods & a handful of hornuts. And a fair amount in the stands and concession open with good burgers. It’s entertaining and even more so since it’s free!

Thanks Mr. B for the report. Kinda hard to keep moisture at Noon. That's about the time it starts really drying out. Most important is cars got laps on it and that should make it smoother for the races to come.

To start this off I want to say I’m not bashing them. But they said at the drivers meeting they left the straightaways dry on purpose and watered the upper and lower grooves but not the middle. I was hoping they were going to cut and water the track the same way that they would prep it for a race. We have had some success there the last few years and I love running there. I really want the new promotion team to succeed and I hope they get the prep figured out and we can have a good track to race on.

What did folks think of the reduced banking? That’s a big question for me.

The track was originally 18* and after the first season they reduced it to 14* (It's current configuration) Im told they can track the track in a few more feet if they want to. But that won't be the norm. One year after getting new clay he had it graded almost down to the light poles and Moffat, Ran around the light poles and won.

Im sure they're just trying to get the new clay packed in hard. IDK. Florence was hard as a rock two weeks ago and no passing. Last night the leaders swapped the lead three or for times with Adam Stricker winning.

To be honest I’m not a fan of it. I think it is going to be really hard to pass in 1&2.

My opinion is it’s an improvement… but that’s not seeing actual racing.

I was there. That was heck of a race and that’s big coming from me.
