'94 USAC sprint champ Doug Kalitta wins @ IRP
1994 USAC sprint champ Doug Kalitta won a straight line division "final" (weird deal..both cars sounded like the Andy Granetti old turbine "swoosh-mobiles" as they crossed the line!) -
https://www.nhra.com/news/2019/final...y-top-fuel-win (For those that don't watch) They actly give Kalitta (& now Austin Prock) mentions as former "Sprint car drivers" about EVERY week on Fox/Fs1 coverage. I didn't hear them say if Doug won either a sprint of midget race on the oval there (at IRP)...I'm sure he HAD too??? He was good on pavement - 21 wins total. PS - Sure wish NASCAR woulda kept the Sept Brickyard 400 date...didn't' give it much of a chance to catch on...with this "Big-Go" drag race, "dragging" on all this wknd/thru Monday, action kicking off at the new Indy dirt track Wed-Thur (which makes for a big midget race the time of year the Hut 100 was many years), Xfinity coming in Friday at the big track (which is a shame really) & then Silver Crowns (& more I think) at IRP Saturday; it could all keep flowing together and makes a mini "Speedweek" type of deal...oh well...I won't be hired to be in charge of it all...lol |
