Shadyhill Speedway

Milllstadt, IL - The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series event scheduled for August 13th at
Shadyhill Speedway in Medaryville, IN has been postponed. Officials from both POWRi and
Shadyhill Speedway regret the postponement but plans are already being made to bring the
mighty midgets to the speed plant in the spring of 2012.

Around a month ago somebody was posting on here about this race and he had the payout in his post. He sounded like he worked for the track.

I was looking foward to this race since it is a track that I have never been to. When POWRI orginally announced that they would be at Shadyhill on Saturday and Kokomo on Sunday, I thought this would be a great weekend. Then later on, it was announced that Kokomo wasn't hosting a race and I wondered if that would affect Shadyhill? A very long haul for the mighty midgets for only a one night show. Doesn't surprise me at all. Let's hope that by spring 2012 they can offer a two race weekend so at least the racers can show something for a long trip to northern Indiana.

I agree, I've never been there either so I was hoping they would run but I understand that it would have made more sense as a 2 night deal.

What's wrong with the Hoosier state Poweri, it's as if we have the plague or something here in Indiana. Wish you guys would come over here and race. We don't get many dirt midget races in Indiana anymore.

Powri seems to forget it's eastern neighbors are really aching for some dirt midget shows. They could come run the tracks Usac doesn't and still fill their schedule pretty decently over here.

The Mopar D1 Midgets along with the Ford Focus Midgets will be in action on Saturday at Montpelier Motor Speedway, come support this neat 1/4-mile oval located off I-69.....tickets are just $10..

Before we forget and lay all of the blame at Powr I's feet, there is another entity here you need to consider. That being promoters here in the Hoosier state have to WANT this as part of their schedule. Powr I might really want to race in Indiana, but it still takes tracks to step up and book them as part of their program.

I don't know any inside information, but it seems that Powr I can pretty much fill their schedule running where they currently do. Being a St. Louis area based sanctioning body, many of their competitors are from that area. Travel also needs to be considered into this as well. One night shows in Indiana won't work in my opinion in this economy. So even if you have a couple of tracks that are interested, can the logistics be worked out to everyones satisfaction? It would be nice though.
