TAMPA, Fla. — USAC will sanction the Central Florida Wingless Sprint Car Ass’n next season, creating the USAC Southeast Sprint Car Series.

It is the second regional sprint-car tour created by USAC in the past two years with the introduction of the USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series in 2010.

“Florida has always been a popular destination for race fans and we are delighted to again bring USAC’s brand to the Sunshine State for this exciting series,” said USAC President and CEO Kevin Miller. “We recognize the importance of pavement sprint-car racing and welcome these participants and fans into our motorsports family.”

The series, which was conceived in 2002 by Michael and Carla Rudolph, was designed to put the competition back into the hands of the drivers and to offer affordable racing to both the veterans and newcomers to the sport. The series, which will be in its 10th season in 2011, runs exclusively on asphalt.

Previous champions of the Central Florida Wingless Sprint Car Ass’n include 2009 co-champions Dakotah Stephens and Troy DeCaire, Jim Alvis (2008), Dennis Misuraca (2007), Scott Adema (2006), Charlie Linder (2005), Curtis Carter (2004), Tommy Nichols (2003) and Kevin Cahill (2002).

The 2011 USAC Southeast Sprint Car Series schedule will be announced at a later date.

The USAC Southeast Sprint Car Series is one of three (TBARA, Checkered Flag Sprint Series) asphalt-based sprint-car series operating in the state of Florida.

In my opinion this is possibly going to be a good move on USAC's part. The USAC pavement is struggling in the Midwest as its been hard getting cars and tracks. Now the can possibly venture to the GA, NC, AL areas to get additional dates to make it worthwhile to field a pavement car and they can use this club to insure car count if the National series were to look south for more pavement dates. A dual sanctioned event with the national and southeast at say a place like concord or lanier for example.

They are already spread thin

yes Jack hewittfan it is ....ALL FLORIDA SPRINTS are 360's .... there was a little talk about CFWS doing some non wing dirt next year...don't know if that is gonna happen being all 4 major dirt tracks OWN the Top Gun Series which run the sissy flaps...we can only wish...that is one reason I started my series SSSprints which I am doing with the lighting/mini sprints and was hoping to promote a couple of non wing shows but I don't see that happing anytime soon:15:

FOr those in the know, how the engine rules for the current USAC 360 series relate to those from the ASCS and USCS. How about the TBARA and the USAC series.
