Racing in Indiana

I have a friend in South Bend, Indiana there on business and wants to see some sprint car racing this weekend. Is there anything within a 2 hour drive from South Bend that might be worth hitting? Thanks for your help in advance.

Two and a half hours and he could be sitting at a USAC National Sprint show @ I-96 Speedway @ Lake Odessa, Michigan. That's Saturday night.

I give the nod to that one, too. Butler has had a low car count this year (Saturday Night weekly). USAC is up at I-96 Speedway but they never draw big for USAC up here in Michigan. You get 24-30 cars regularly at Gas City and Kokomo, but for I-96, I would be surprised if they got 12-14 cars. So, with that, I'd take Butler over I-96 for Plan B. At least you can bring your own beer into Butler. And it's cheaper. And they'll have a lot of Modifieds on the undercard. The problem with Butler is the show always seems to run late.

Have fun wherever you go.
