Re: WoO
Yes, Knoxville is a different race track.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL-dVvdqbGo p.s. I-55 has been on the schedule on that weekend for many many years. Iron Man 55 is a bad-ass race. They do a tractor show there too |
Re: WoO
Does anyone actually know what the size of Haubstadt is? It has always looked smaller than a 1/4 mile to me.
|
Pevely is one of the best tracks on the schedule and the Ironman is a great race.
The WoO usually has a spring race scheduled there that 2 out of 3 times will get rained out. They didn’t schedule the spring race this year. |

ThePurple73, Haubstadt is 1/4, just tight turns with long straightaways. If you wanna get technical, you gotta use Google Earth, like Johnny Gibson, WoO Announcer did. Springfield is actually bigger than a mile & Rolling Wheels is under a 5/8, along with Eldora & Volusia being a little under a 1/2, so the All-time Dirt Sprint Car Speed record rests with Sammy Swindell again, just like it did for many years from Syracuse, then Billy Pauch had it for awhile at the last WoO show at Syracuse in 1994.

Didn’t they outlaws run there again in 2010? I wish I could find some footage of it, all I can seem to dig up is an on board of Chad Kemenah, which is still pretty cool to see.

hoosierboy3, I watched the video again of Chad Kemenah & Jason Sides, just Hot Lapping. I'm 99.9% sure that's all it amounted to. WoO Sprint Cars last actual race on a Mile was a Springfield in 1998. Last actual race at Syracuse was 1994. Last Indy Mile race was the 1st U.S. Dirt Nationals in 1992, which I witnessed. Then that race moved to Terre Haute for another year or two.
