USAC Racing
Everything is still on at Terre Haute today despite heavy overnight rains, which have left the fairgrounds saturated. We will be pitting cars in the gravel lots just outside the pit gate due to the mud and standing water...

Re: Action track status

are you talking about the gravel lot behind the bleachers

ekohl23 7/3/11 8:06 AM

That was a tweet from USAC but I'm sure that's what they mean

Glad they are trying but don't sound very good for Fan parking or the Infield Fans

lets hope they get the infield open. looking forward to seeing an awesome day race with a tacky track.

Re: Action track status

Not saying the infield will be closed but if they are pitting outside the track area the infield has to be soaked also

The actual infield fan area is actually a very fast drying soil. It will be wet, but I don't think it will be bad to walk and stand in.

The marathon at terre haute is on, drivers aren't even in there suits yet.... Let's see who will get the race in first Terre Haute or Kokomo lol

They are still working on the mud pit....i mean track. They got a water truck and tractor trying to pack it in.

An interesting note, you don't even need a pit pass to be in the pits since they are in parking lots.

terrehautian 7/3/11 12:10 PM

:16Who would have guessed that;)

terrehautian 7/3/11 12:36 PM

Well, we did get an inch or more of rain about 1am last night. That isn't exactly the best to get water drained on the front and back stretch.

JSBH03 7/3/11 12:41 PM

Yeah, shocking that it's muddy considering the amount of rain we got in the middle of the night.

midgy 7/3/11 12:56 PM

No earlier than 2 before cars hit track.

terrehautian 7/3/11 12:59 PM

Tunnel must be flooded, in field people are crossing track at pit entrance.

Drtchsr 7/3/11 2:04 PM

Cars are on the track.

terrehautian 7/3/11 2:39 PM

Turn 4 bottom and a little of one getting dusty, but track looks good otherwise. Grand stands 3/4 or a bit more full. Bleachers maybe half full. In field pretty empty.
