Looking toward the Burg
As it stands now, I’m looking towards Saturday night at the Burg The last time I was there, we rolled in with a VW midget to race on the old track. With at least a little uncertainty about the upcoming season, I figured we should try to get down there in case the worst case scenario plays out. I’m optimistic that won’t happen but. So gathering a little info for the trip. I was wondering what time you can get set up for some tailgating. Also recommended lodging nearby, in a direction back towards the northwest. Has anyone stayed at the casino hotel? Thanks for any input. As of now it looks all systems are go

Re: Looking toward the Burg
Can't help you with accommodations but they may have the pit gate open at three. if that's the tailgating your talking about (Back Straight)
. As far as on the fairgrounds or behind the fairgrounds. Anytime. Im also worried about worst case. Then again, Maybe there's someone who can get it, Get a schedule put together and get all the equipment and staffing needed by spring. We'll see. Weather your a fan or not, Im going to go send em out with a bang. Hope the racers do as well. See you there! |
I plan on being there for the simple fact that this has been an epic season for the USAC Sprint Division.
All my history books and news clippings have always made Me wish I were there to witness. This season ranks up there with the Golden Era of Sprint racing and I don’t want to miss out on my chance to witness it unfold. Justin, Brady, Jake, Emerson, C.J., Robert, Kyle, Logan, Daison, Carson, come on, the talent is bursting at the seams! |

I once slept in the tree in front of the casino. I wouldn't recommend it for comfort but the pricing and location was great! :5:

Wonder if Windom, Who is back this side of the Keystone will try for the 30k at one of his best tracks.

Chuck, I was thinking like you. Thought it would be a legit chance for Bug Daddy to have a big payday. Anyway we’re rolling in hot to the Burg. Hope to get a chance to meet you

Lots of good fast racing. Home at Ten sharp.
Met Flagboy, Seen KB and MC Rider My two race buddies are over 80 and are cold when it's 70 so they didn't come. Think one's got a new GF after outliving two wives. |
What a time. First off I want to say it was great to shake hands with MC and Charles. I only wish we had more time to talk. Big hat shake to my bud NoDramazone2020 for saving us a spot for tailgating. Unbeknownst to him he was parked next to the wonderful tandem of Wildman92 and Dirtfan, which led to a little IOW meet and greet. As I’ve stated before, it’s been decades since I’ve been there. I think I picked a great night to revisit. One thing I have to say first is , the Burg doesn’t do itself Justice on TVs. After watching it in person, I understand why it might create some hesitancy for some drivers. Not to sidetrack here but, the Burg races more like the real Eldora, than Eldora does now. I’ve often heard about the quality of the facility, and all of that was validated Saturday night. The place is great. I look back on what made Eldora so special to me, and I saw that again on the banks of the Ohio River. The track is not for every racer, and that’s how it should be. The speed on the fence is worth the price of admission, even if it’s not side by side racing. I could go on, but I’ll quit boring you here. A bow to the Rudisell’s for what they have done. And if the the Lawrenceburg Speedway does not carry on, it will be a huge loss to real racing in our great state and racing as a whole
