Jim had surgery today and is recovering in the hospital. Everyone please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Will miss you buddy at TSS for the Hustler. Had a blast taking you to some races this year, so rest up and don’t drive the nurses too crazy. We got plenty of more races to go to next year.

Jim has since been taken to Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Jim is out of surgery and was told that he’s in good spirits. Probably be in hospital for a week before being transferred back to Encompass for therapy. His chassis may be a little old, but it’s tougher then a $2 steak. Stay strong Jim, and we’ll be back at the track soon.

Just a quick update on Jim. Just got off the phone with him. He’s still in Deaconess and no word on when he might get transferred to Encompass. His race season is over for this year, but he’s looking forward to next year. He wanted everyone to know he appreciates the calls and well wishes.

When I speed up the steps to the press box, I'll miss seeing Jim's handsome, smiling face. Will have to settle for Al's handsome mug and Jerry Shaw's made-for-Hollywood countenance.

Jim has a new number 812-450-8231 and room a631. He’s slowly moving down the floors. Hopefully he’ll see the exit soon.

Well after a scary bout with a flatline last week, Jim has been in ICU again. Just glad he was still in the hospital when the Code went out over the intercom. He required a significant amount of blood as there was obviously a leak that they were unaware of. He sounds good on the phone and hasn’t lost his sense of humor. He’s in room A516 and his number is (812).842.3516. I’m going up there tomorrow for a visit and will try to post a better update.

Visited with Jim today for about a hour and a half. He's been transferred to a long term rehab facility here in Evansville. Spirits are still good, but he's got a long road ahead. I got him a phone installed in the room and the number is 812.421.2523 Unfortunately, he somehow poked a hole in the middle of his tongue and they had to stitch it up today, so the Dr. doesn't want him talking a lot ( maybe they did that on purpose when he was sleeping :3: ). First thing i noticed when I walked in was a pad of paper and he had drawn a sprint car in red ink on it. No wings of course, gotta love that. Give him a few days if you want to call.

If there's any drivers or team members that read this, I think it would be awesome if they could send him a hero card, sticker, or can coozie. I know this would mean a ton to him and raise his spirits. Doesn’t matter if your a 410 sprint, mini sprint, modified, or wings, ect…..He is the Super fan of all Super fans. It would also be great if IOW members could send him a card or letter. Thanks to all that have contacted him already. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
