Kokomo..This Friday ...
I hardly ever miss a Sprint car race at Kokomo ....This Friday the Lucas Oil Late Models will run at Kokomo ...What do you all think it will be like ??..They do look kinda good on Mav TV...But also some of them look like follow the leader ...Just wonder what they will be like on a 1/4 mile track ...and it costs $30 grandstand & $40 pit gate ...Thanks for your input ......nothing can beat Non Wing Sprints ...

Re: Kokomo..This Friday ...
I'd be going if Kokomo was 2 hrs from home instead of 3.
I grew up on Late Models, so definitely have my own bias, but they can put on a great show. Lucas format isn't super fan friendly, but on a multi-groove bull ring definitely should be entertaining. |
I will be there, then going to Plymouth Saturday 🏁

24 Late Models & 42 UMP Modifieds
Tyler Erb won over Jimmy Owens, Don O'Neal, Hudson O'Neal, & Tim McCreadie. Came close to the Sprint car track record set by Dave Darland in 2014 at 12.4 Shannon Buckingham ran a 12.666 in qualifying. Derek Losh won the 30 lap Modified race. Hudson O'Neal led for most of the race until car went away with about 8 laps left. He and Tyler Erb put on one hell of a show for the lead. Track was a bit choppy but it made the race very interesting. Jimmy Owens came from 14th to 2nd. Josh Richards came from mid pack as well and was hounding the leaders in the middle of the race until he had a flat Right Rear. All in all good show. It may not have been perfect track conditions but when all said and done I thought the racing was very good in both divisions. Hope to see them back next year. O YEAH THE GRANDSTANDS WHERE A PACK HOUSE AS WELL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRACK. :32: |
They really did 'Flock' into the Kokomo Speedway last night. The place was packed both in the grandstands and the pits for another thrilling race @ Kokomo. Thanks to all the people at Kokomo Speedway who makes everything happen.

Re: Kokomo..This Friday ...
Wild night for sure. Big crowd. Hopefully we get to see this group again next fall, would love to make this one a habit. Perfect weather. 24 of the Baddest cats its in the alley. anyone that doesn't think the next generation isn't interested in racing? Hudson O'neal, Devin Moran, Bobby Pierce, Moyer Jr. oh yeah Timmy McCreadie too Great night all around. :32::32::32:
P.S. hope all turned out good for the really drunk guy on the back-stretch, he's feeling IT this morning :22: |
Word has it that this race converted KO to a late model guy.
Details are sketchy however |

Not saying that is a bad thing, I just loved what it was before. Great crowd at $30 a ticket, and fans from all over the Midwest. James Essex asked how many fans were making their first visit to Kokomo, and a bunch of hands went up. That can only be a good thing for Kokomo. Hopefully this show becomes a staple on the schedule, and maybe even convinces other promoters to host some late model events. Big thanks to Cody Sommer, his staff, and their partners at Kokomo Speedway for this event. |
True story!
