Last night at Terre Haute was another example of just how crazy the weather can be. This time there were storms in the forecast and I never thought we would get that race in after the gale force winds during the national anthem. But they got it in through a light sprinkle and a fantastic lightening show.

We are headed to DuQuoin today and looking forward to seeing the big cars under the lights. Hoping Ma Nature cooperates again.

Cliff Notes version of link: Slight risk for severe weather with damaging winds the main threat along with frequent lightning. Secondary threats of heavy rain and hail. It will be dependent on how hot it get (78 degrees F as of 9 am) and the timing of the cold front passage.

I would say do like I am doing: go to the race and make sure you have an app on your phone that alerts you to severe weather if/when it happens.

We're on the grounds right now and it's mid 80's with a nice breeze. C'mon out practice starts at 5:00

Their about to get hit, But question will be how much and how long. Worst looks north of them going west.
Don't look good, If your at the fairgrounds get inside. Don't look severe but t storm about to hit.

It's pouring & thundering at Mt. Vernon right now.

Sargent claims they had a breif rain, but they are racing. Practice is being delayed. A likely story; this will turn into another USAC rainout.

I'm looking at some blue skies and they are working in the track.

Jen is at the track and says they are working it Delayed means starting later than scheduled.

USAC just tweeted that they are rolling in the track now, and it should be heavy when they get turned loose. Could be a great night of racing. Don't miss it if you are anywhere within a reasonable driving distance. :31:

Decent crowd in spite of rains and delay, these cars are absolutely beautiful under the lights running th cushion. Big shame that somehow car count is on life support

Folks attending other than the hard core race fans probably don't care if there are 15 or 50 cars as long as they see a fun race and have a good time.

Just remember, I didn't start the negativity. Someone who didn't even attend a race at DuQuoin bad mouthed it.
From all the updates I got, It was a hell of a show.

Something that hasn't been seen in awhile in a dirt SC race, Fuel Mileage a major factor due to heavy track.

Oh, I did Moler Friday and Burg Sat. Did a grill out and bench racing today as closest track with sprints was 178 miles.

What did they run at the Burg?
Do you count bench races towards your season totals?
