Re: Kings royal

I'll be there too. I picked Shane Stewart to win in a contest, so I guess I'll stick with my pick. I'd like to see Rico, Bell, and Brad Sweet run well too.

Re: Kings royal

I'll be there! Haven't missed a Royal yet and don't plan to start now. I'll say 48 cars and Sammy to win. I'm hoping for the Buckeye Bullet to show up. If he does, that's who I'm cheering for.

Re: Kings royal

Going to say 55 cars and a 3 way battle between the Buckeye Bullet Dave Blaney (if he shows) The King Steve Kinser, & Slammin Sammy Swindell.

1992 called,wants it's top 3 back.Sweet,Mcmahan,Rico 47 cars

Re: Kings royal

I'll be there and as a big Sammy fan he better start up front as he has shown no ability to come from a few rows back and win for the last year and a half. I have no idea what is going on with his car but hope he and Steve can run well and one of them possibly pull out a victory. Kerry Madsen runs well there and will be tough. If they have 50 cars I'll be surprised but if only 30 show up they'll be the good ones.

I read somewhere that Kinser is not retiring but will not do all the races any more. He will pick and choose - maybe Kings Royal is one he might choose.

This is true. He never said he's retiring, he's just not running the full WoO tour after this year. He'll be back in the TSR car next year and if I had to bet I'd say the Kings Royal will be on the schedule.

I doubt Steve will be running non-wing sprints for $1,400 to win.

I got a few picks. Sweet, Madsen, Saldana. My guess is that none of the old fellas like The King, Sammy or Jac will stand a chance. One of them might not even make the main.

According to TSR, Kinser will be back in the TSR 11 next year. I wasn't throwing out random bs rumors, but I guess I should have elaborated on where I got my info.

From a driver stand point i agree. From the car under him i see no chance.

Sammy's leading the feature right now on Friday. Hope he can hold on for 13 more laps. As I said earlier if he starts near the front he can be tough and he was on the front row tonight.

Re: Kings royal

Sammy wins. Old guys ain't done yet. Usually the faster and bigger the track the better Sammy runs. But let's not talk about the last two Nationals.

Wonder if they'll have a 2nd full time car next year or just Schatz and Kinser part time

Jacs damn lucky he didn't go for a ride last night. I'll have to watch a replay but his right side tires had to be up on the wall. At 1 point he went from 4th to 2nd but it was negated by a caution.

Good thing Jac;s mellowed with age lol In his Wild Child days he;d had all four wheels on the wall :8:

They evidently didn't catch Wimmers crash. He did the same thing Jac did but was not as fortunate. Wimmer didn't have a ride for tonight at least in Hammer #24

Hot Rod K. 7/12/14 11:54 PM

Madsen wins?

Yes

The car and hauler was there. It was sitting in the outside pit area. I heard on the PA the car was beyond repair and Wimmer said it was one of the worst hits he's had in a car so he may not have been able to go either.

For the non wing fans, Rico Abreu started 13th and finished 8th and Christopher Bell started 22nd and finished 11th earning the hard charger award. Bell was in the Foxco 53.

A couple things right and a couple wrong. Madsen won and Jac didn't make it.

Seen some pictures of the crowd and was wondering if anybody has a guess on the attendance?

Flatrightrear 7/13/14 5:40 PM

Re: Kings royal

Huge crowd but how many? Only Eldora knows. Beautiful night and over at midnight. I thought the track held up very well and there was no big dust problem. Winged sprints at Eldora are absolutely awesome to me with the speed and the motors wound up. Hardly any cautions all night in either class. Had a fuel stop with two laps to go after Shane Stewart ran out. Madsen had to hate to see that as he was kicking tail but he drove away again and he was definitely the car to beat. Congrats to Kerry!! Steve and Sammy just couldn't get it going but Kevin Swindell tried all night to take the concrete off the wall and ran an exciting 4th. Bell looked good in the Foxco car.

They capped sales on the Nascar race at 30,000 last year I believe. I would say there was more than that after seeing pics. I believe thats the number of seats they have is 30g

dirtfan98 7/13/14 5:57 PM

On a side note 50/50 winner walked away with 36k!!! Friday night's winner got 15k!!! Unbelievable crowd great racing had an awesome first experience for the kings! Congrats Kerry!
