Racers MIA 2

Not trying to hi-jack someone else's thread but I can think of a bunch of central indiana drivers that I haven't seen in a while....
Billy Puterbaugh(sp) Jr. Wow was he ever a gas man at LPS!!
Seth Parker-- I thought he was going to have a real bright future and then vanished.
Justin Marvel-- I also thought he was starting to turn the corner and become a threat to win some features.
Jimmy Lazer-- He won some features at LPS in 05-06 and I thought he would turn into a hot shoe if given the right ride.

Anybody else have some suggestions?

You can add Danny Holtsclaw, Kurt Gross, Kyle Hendricks I think was the name in the 68 car, Fitzpatrick brothers awesome to watch, Casey Riggs, and the 1 I miss the most and can't wait to see back Daron Clayton.

If I remember right, I believe Holtsclaw retired a few years ago. Kinda similar to a few others in wanting to spend more time with family.

Justin Marvel might be helping with Brinton's 305, but I can't confirm that myself.

Most likely they disappear when money runs out. Second reason is wives get fed up. Or, a combination of the two. It's never because they simply don't feel like doing it anymore.

There are a number of factors that go into deciding to quit racing. Someone told me once the higher the level of racing the more it feels like a job and less like a hobby. I can attest to that......five days of my week involved working on the car or being at the track. At some point you have to decide if it's worth it to spend thousands to win hundreds, not to mention the risk to life and limb. After 10 years of quarter midgets, midgets and sprints I was burned out and was no longer enjoying racing. I miss the time I spent with my son and watching him race, but I don't miss how racing basically had taken over my life.

Well said Phil, I know the feeling, I still want to, but my want to is flat wore out, I started in the early 50's, and for all practical purposes, quit about 4 years ago, not out of business, just out. Bob

Kurt Gross is turning wrenches on the Briscoe car. And Scotty Weir was in the pits at Gas City (from other Mia post):)
