LPS Midget Week

Ok give me the rundown on LPS. Thinking about going Thursday. Bring Chairs? Coolers inside or just in lot? Anything else on tips let me know.

Thanks
Ty

you can bring coolers - no booze.they sell all kinds of drinks.chairs will fit between the bleachers for comfotable seating.not a bad seat in the house.or you can sit in the grass in turn 4. enjoy

Ty,

A different type of facility when it comes to seating. Concrete area bleachers that many people bring lawn chairs and sit between the rows of permanent seats as Bill said. Turn 4 has grassy hill side seating for lawn chairs as well. Also a small set of regular bleachers toward the turn 4 side of the main grandstand area. Pitside is a larger set of regular bleachers.

If you have never been to LPS, I would highly recommend it. Joe Spiker has done a great job in bringing this track back to life. The track is rated as a 5/16th mile with tight high banked turns and longer straightaways. A good sprint and midget track with good fender racing to boot. Well worth the trip in my opinion.

Coolers allowed but no alcoholic beverages allowed to be carried in. Ample amount of parking with plenty of area to tailgate and enjoy a cold beverage or three.:32:

:6::6: My first time to LPS was yesterday to visit Mowerman and that place looks like a golf course! Great place for a race track with the stands cut into the hill side! And Rob track employee helped me get a room in town that is clean and affordable! Can't wait till Thursday! :32::32:

How many can we expect the midgets to bring in?

Re: LPS Midget Week

I would say 35 to 40 Midgets and 25 Sprints with 25 Mods

This seems to be the remark from most on here, lol. I planned on going just never been for a midget week race. I've been to some midget races before where less than 20 was there just checking on what the knowledgeable folks think.

And you came here looking for knowledgeable folks?:D Just kidding.:) Car count to me is mostly hit and miss. I don't need quantity to make it a good show, I just want to see quality. I have seen 45-50 car shows that weren't that great while attending a 15 car show that was outstanding. With USAC being involved, 32 is the number most folks look at. That is the number they normally lock into 4 heat races. If you get a lot more than that, you have qualifiers which many times don't produce good racing and just puts more wear and tear on the track surface. Anything less can still produce great racing depending upon who shows up. I'm sure that helps you out a lot.:18: Clear as mud right?:5:

That was changed to 40 with ten car heats. Over that you have qualifiers
