Re: Nolen V-6 at Little 500
Kody was in Nolens v-6 last year. The 4 Frey wins and the Bentley 2 were in Niebel built V-6. This was Gene's first win, overdue. Rick 42 is spot on Bill Tranter has these v-6's dialed in.
he also builds some really good V-8's. |

1300 pounds less driver no matter what motor has

Yes they’re weight rules. 1300 for everyone. The advantages use to be different. Today the biggest advantage is no buzzing the tires. You don’t need 900hp on a greasy pavement track.Keep up your momentum. Today the tires are done before the fuel advantage ever helps. These motors with the right driver are really hard to beat.

Re: Nolen V-6 at Little 500
Hoffmans took 200hp out last year with the V8 and Smoke said it still had more than enough. This year they went V6 and Eric Gordon was up to fifth. Something in the drive line, a bearing or something went bad. Dan who was their full time Mechanic said most of their cars were over weight as you need stronger parts in certain places. It's why the top teams have very few DNF's I know on the pavement car the drag link was two pieces connected by rod ends because a single drag link bent so far the car wouldn't turn due to the forces on Pavement.
BTW Dan was working on Kody's car :) |
Re: Nolen V-6 at Little 500
Dan called a great race. kept us calm after a horrible, horrible first stop. He provided great leadership. Those cars are all maintained by Rick Laughlin and Kevin Noblitt who have a huge undertaking. Although they were in a different pit race night they assembled and maintained 2 cars in the top 3 and the third car was strong until a hub problem accured. All while running two silver crown cars on pavement and dirt the same week. This was a total Nolen team effort and well past due. May 2019 cant get here quick enough

Anyone know what these v6 engines dyno numbers are?
