ACTON, LITTLE GRAB CONCORD FEATURE WINS



Concord, NC……..Cody Acton of Maiden, N.C. and Jess Little of Sherrills Ford, N.C. scored feature victories in USAC Ford Focus competition at Concord Speedway Wednesday night. Acton’s initial USAC win came in the 40-lap Ford Focus feature. He passed Justin Hommel on lap 36 and led the last five laps to beat Jarett andretti to the checkered flag. Tyler Corriher, who led the first 22 laps, Chris Lamb and Mike Mahaney rounded out the “top-five.” In the accompanying Young Guns race, Little led all 25 laps to beat Austin Prock, Ryan Ayers and Adam Brown.

USAC’S WESTERN “FORD FOCUS WEEK” OPENS AT PERRIS SATURDAY



The 2010 USAC Western “Ford Focus Week” debuts Saturday night at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway and continues next Wednesday (Aug. 4) at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway, then concludes on Saturday (Aug. 7) at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif.



USAC Western Ford Focus and Western Young Guns drivers will compete for “Ford Focus Week” championships in the three-race series, with Hoosier Tire West, Ron Sutton’s Star Racing Supply, K & N and Fresno Discount Trophy offering sponsorship support.



Sean Dodenhof (Ford Focus) and Taylor Ferns (Young Guns) won last year’s inaugural California Ford Focus Week titles and 2010 series point leaders Nick Carlson (Ford Focus Dirt), Jarid Blondel (Young Guns) and Alex Jacobsen (Young Guns Dirt) are expected to be among top threats to win this year’s titles.



Saturday’s racing program at Perris also includes the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Cars.



California leads the all-time list of states hosting USAC Ford Focus races with 209 to date.

Dave Darland has continued his strong 2010 season picking up his ninth feature win of the season at Gas City, Indiana. Brooke Tatnell won another feature win this time in Elko, Minnesota. Coleman Gullick won his first non-wing sprint race of the year at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Lucas Wolfe broke the track record in Quebec, Canada this week. The editors of "The Most Beautiful Babies in America" selected our son's photo to be published in the book. :8: Below is the photo which will be in the book.



Here is a photo from Bloomington Speedway on July 2nd. It was at this time that we decided to submit a photo because everyone kept saying how cute our son was, with his glasses and ear phones on. We have even had complete strangers ask to take a photo of him while we are at the track.
