THREATENING SHOWERS FORCE CANCELLATION OF "ROBBIE STANLEY CLASSIC" AT
LAWRENCEBURG
LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. - A forecast for severe thunderstorms in the Lawrenceburg,
Ind. area this evening has forced the cancellation of round six of "Indiana
Sprint Week" - the "Robbie Stanley Classic" - for the USAC National Sprint Car
Series at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
Precipitation was moving slowly across the Hoosier state toward the southeastern
portion of the state throughout the afternoon, and the radar showed heavy
showers to move into Lawrenceburg early evening.
Jon Stanbrough has won three of the first five rounds of "Indiana Sprint Week"
thus far, and will lead competitors Friday to the now six-race series at the
Terre Haute Action Track. Stanbrough, looking to become the first Hoosier in
five years to win the "Indiana Sprint Week" title, owns a 50-point advantage
over defending National Sprint Car Series champion Levi Jones heading into
Friday's event. |
